Bea Doucet

Bea
Principle Designer / Decorator / Owner
I love design and decorating….every aspect of it!!
As a pre-teen I would spend my allowance on beautiful objects instead of treats and movies……it has always been a part of me.

I received my training over a number of years……starting with an off campus education from the New York School of Interior Design.
From there I did intern training with an established interior design firm in Halifax for two years.
In 1979 I opened Interiors by Bea on the South Shore of Nova Scotia.
With a marital change in 1986 I sold that business and moved to Halifax permanently.
I worked for a decorating firm for three years and then joined a registered interior design firm as an associate for 4 years.
In 1993 my new husband, Jim Davis and I opened the doors of Doucet-Watts&Davis Interiors Inc. (DWD Interiors).
This year I became an associate member of IDC.  I continue to educate myself……knowledge and an open mind to new ideas as well as “tried and true” keep designs fresh.

Working in this industry is joyful work….we are challenged by different personalities, different environments and different budgets.
They are the challenges and the joys!

We believe in giving back to the community and have donated our time, etc to ….Sunshine Cancer Room, YWCA, Phoenix House, Kids Help Line, United Way, etc…….another joyful opportunity.
